Most times, we do not focus too much on the level of love God extends to all mankind through the death of His only son.
This song, Father of Jesus by Jonathan David Helser reminds our hearts and inner man about the price the father of Jesus (God) had to pay to redeem us all.
These points are well established in the book of Romans chapter 8 verse 32. It says:
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
What a privilege we have. What love He showed. He reached out to the clay, pulled us out to be close to His heart.
He opened his arms for us to come into His peaceful dwelling. Glory be to God!
What then can we give Him? What love can we show that He had not shown us even before we knew who we are?
Let us then continue to give Him constant glory, honour and praise through our life, our work and our ways.
This song is powerful. It steers me up for God. I love the steering of God for it is in the steering of our hearts that we do exploit for God - Akinpelumi Akinboye
Jonathan David Helser - Father of Jesus Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Father of JESUS
Bankrupted Heaven
You Gave Your Only Son Away
Fully Surrendered
What You Most Treasured
Risking it all to Save Us
[Chorus]
You and Only You
Could know the Price
You’d have to Pay
You and Only You
Would have this Much
To Give Away
[Verse 2]
Father of Kindness
OH, how You Love Us
OH, how we Love Your Presence
We are your Treasure
The Pearl of great Promise
You Risk it all to Save Us
[Chorus]
You and Only You
Could know the Price
You’d have to Pay
You and Only You
Would have this Much
To Give Away
[Bridge]
All Glory, all Honor, All Praise
To You my Father
All Glory, all Honor, All Praise
To You my Father
All Glory, all Honor, All Praise
To You my Father
All Glory, all Honor, All Praise
To You my Father
[Chorus]
You and Only You
Could know the Price
You’d have to Pay
You and Only You
Would have this Much
To Give Away
You and Only You
Could know the Price
You’d have to Pay
You and Only You
Would have this Much
To Give Away
[Verse 3]
You Reached into the Clay
Pulled a Man up to Your Face
Knelt into the Dust
And You Kissed us with Grace
You Covered all the Space
And all the Distance
Between me and You
When You ran to Meet me
On that Road
You Hung Your Arms Open Wide
Between Two Thieves You Cried
Father Forgive them
You Gave it all Away
I can Never Understand
The Price You Paid
When You Bankrupted Heaven
To Save Us
It can’t be Measured
It can’t be Fathomed
What it was Like
To Give Your Beloved Away
OH, Father we Love You
Father we Thank You
Father we Worship You Tonight
For that Sacrifice
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
OOH OOH OOH
[Chorus]
You and Only You
Could know the Price
You’d have to Pay
You and Only You
Would have this Much
To Give Away
