In a time of uncertainty (you and I can relate to this), what we need is reassurance that we won't fail no matter how bad it gets. This is the message in this song, Firm Foundation by Maverick City.
Christ is my firm Foundation
The Rock on which I standWhen everything around me is shaken
I've never been more glad
That I put my faith in Jesus
'Cause He's never let me down
He's faithful through generations
So why would He fail now
He won't, He won't
Deep and powerful words. What a way to start the song. From the start, your faith is strengthened. Your feet are strong and no room for fear.
A friend of mine once said these words to me:
Everything you see on earth is standing on a foundation. Whatever you choose as your foundation determines if you will survive the storms of life. Trust me, there will always be storms".
Those words stuck to my head until today. I think the reason why God blessed me with a long head is for me to have enough space to stick words just like this one. Funny but true. I have been blessed to store up words such as this, and, in return, it has helped me rise above some barriers of life. I am still learning.
As you listened to the song, learning, worshipping, you should ask yourself questions. such as this one:
When everything around me is shaken, where does my foundation lie?
You don't have to say it loud, you don't have to reply now. Answer the question in your heart, let your soul whisper those words to your consciousness. If there is a need to make amends, please, do not wait until tomorrow.
In the song, Maverick City and Chandler Moore was not shy in identifying Christ as their firm foundation, can you say the same?
Towards the end of the song, Chandler Moore said these affirmative words:
I have never seen the righteous forsaken...
Those words are the testimonies of those who depend truly on God. I felt those words down my marrows. They are words of comfort, words of joy and peace to a troubled soul. Especially to those who depend solemnly on God.
