Fresh from receiving GMA Dove Award nominations for "Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year" with "Jesus, What A Lovely Name" and "Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year" for "There Is A Mountain," the GRAMMY-winning ensemble Gaither Vocal Band has unveiled their latest album, Shine: The Darker the Night the Brighter the Light. The album is now available on all platforms through Gaither Music Group.
The lineup of talented artists—Bill Gaither, Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles, and Reggie Smith—shine radiantly across the 13-track project. Produced by Gordon Mote and Bill Gaither, the album showcases seamless harmonies and passionate performances. The Gaither Vocal Band reimagines classics such as "The Old Rugged Cross Made the Difference," "Right Place, Right Time," and "Make Me an Instrument." Additionally, they collaborate with CAIN to breathe new life into the worship anthem "Rise Up (Lazarus)."
Infusing smooth harmonies and catchy melodies with themes of redemption and motivation, the collection is accompanied by a full-length performance DVD, available for purchase. Furthermore, a TV special will premiere on various networks this week.
Reflecting on the album's title track, Bill Gaither shares, "This song carries a profound message that I hold close to my heart. Our world has never been steady, and as per God's Word, it won't be. We are called to be a light of God—shining—in an unpredictable society. Do we truly embody the power of love and grace? Every now and then, a song comes along with an impactful concept that can change our way of living. I believe this is one of those songs."
Tracks from Shine: The Darker the Night the Brighter the Light will be highlighted on Gaither Radio on platforms like Pandora, Amazon, and Spotify. Audio content will also be available for streaming on the Gaither Music TV YouTube channel, which boasts 3 million subscribers. Videos from the recording will be shared on both the Gaither Music TV YouTube channel and the Gaither Facebook page. An exclusive global YouTube Premiere is set for August 16 at 10:00 AM ET.
This new release follows the quintet's Let’s Just Praise the Lord album, produced by Bill Gaither and Gordon Mote, which secured a 2023 GRAMMY nomination for Best Roots Gospel Album. Collectively, Bill and Gloria Gaither along with the Gaither Vocal Band have amassed eight GRAMMY Awards and more than two dozen nominations.
In 2022, the group clinched a GMA Dove Award for "Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year" for "My Feet Are on the Rock," taken from the GRAMMY-nominated album That’s Gospel, Brother. The song, produced by Bill Gaither and ACM Award winner Gordon Mote, enjoyed significant radio success. Their recent radio single, "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be," also from That’s Gospel, Brother, is currently a Top 5 hit. Additionally, the debut single from the new Shine album, "Make the Morning Worth the Midnight," is making waves.
All recordings by Gaither Vocal Band are distributed by Capitol Christian Music Group and Universal Music. For more details, visit Gaither.com
