Josephine Benson, a distinguished gospel artist based in the United Kingdom, has not only made her mark in the world of music but also stands as a beacon of inspiration and mentorship. In addition to her musical prowess, she is a dedicated midwife, accomplished businesswoman, loving mother, and a true ambassador of Christ by calling.
Josephine's journey began in the humble surroundings of the University Staff Village Primary School in Accra, Ghana. She later pursued her secondary education at Swedru Senior High School before venturing into the field of midwifery at the prestigious Korle-Bu Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Accra, Ghana. With over a decade of experience, Josephine eventually relocated to the U.K. to continue her noble profession.
The roots of Josephine Benson's musical ministry trace back to her early years, as she began ministering powerful solos at the age of five during her local church's children's day celebrations. Her talent and maturity in song ministrations led her to join the adults' choir at the tender age of nine, marking the beginning of her active service in the choir.
Her musical journey expanded when she became a backing vocalist for renowned Ghanaian gospel artist Bernard Amankwah. This exposure allowed her to collaborate with notable artists such as the late Danny Nettey, Mama Cynthia of Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Rev. Thomas Yawson, Diana Hamilton, Irene Logan, MOG, Celestine Donkor, and many others.
During her senior high school education, Josephine served as an assistant music director for the "Youth Singers" and later played significant roles in directing the headquarters choir, serving as a soloist, and holding the position of a deaconess in her local church.
Driven by her love for humanity and a fervent desire to share her gifts with the world, Josephine Benson established a YouTube channel and other social media platforms. Through these channels, she actively mentors nurses and midwives aspiring to migrate to the United Kingdom, sharing her song ministrations, health education, and the gospel with her followers.
Apart from her musical pursuits, Josephine finds joy in reading, singing, and mentoring. She has successfully mentored numerous youths in her local church in Ghana and continues to extend her guidance to individuals globally.
Josephine's musical journey reached a significant milestone with the release of her debut single, "In This Place," a powerful composition that reflects on life's trials and tribulations. The song encourages listeners to remain steadfast in their faith, drawing inspiration from the biblical account of Joseph in Genesis chapters 37 to 50.
"In the place of life circumstances, we tend to fret and forget who God is in our lives," says Josephine. "But in that very place you find yourself, there are miracles, healings, testimonies, and glory for you."
The song, officially released on January 19, 2023, was written by Josephine Benson, with arrangement and production by Kayode Omosa of Dunack Music Production.
