Deacon Efosa - Super Power

Gospel music takes a vibrant leap forward with the release of Super Power (also known as Power Pass Power), the highly anticipated debut single from Afro-fusion gospel artist Efosa Odaro, widely known as Deacon Efosa. Blending the infectious rhythms of Amapiano with a powerful spiritual message, this dynamic track introduces a fresh, genre-defying voice to the contemporary gospel scene, set to inspire and uplift listeners worldwide.

Deacon Efosa is no ordinary gospel artist. With a unique ability to fuse vibrant African sounds with heartfelt spiritual inspiration, he bridges cultures and generations, delivering a message of hope, empowerment, and divine authority. Super Power is a celebration of the miraculous power in the name of Jesus—a song that ignites faith, stirs the soul, and gets bodies moving to its irresistible beat.

Efosa’s musical journey began in 2002 in Badagry, where he recorded his first song as an amateur. Influenced by reggae, calypso, and his uncle’s knack for rewriting lyrics, Efosa honed his craft early on, reimagining popular songs and performing at school events during his time at Federal Government College. His early secular influences included artists like Tupac, and his first official recording—sponsored by his aunt—marked the launch of his music career. While studying at the University of Port Harcourt, he formed the group Big Boys with friend J Money, releasing an album, That Kind Thing. Technical challenges stalled the project, prompting Efosa to step away from music in 2013.

During his hiatus, Efosa deepened his faith, becoming an ordained deacon in Christ Embassy, a ministry he joined as a teenager. Between 2013 and 2022, he dedicated himself to serving God, until a divine calling in 2024 reignited his passion for music—this time, with a higher purpose. “I wasn’t called back to music for fame,” Efosa shares. “I was called to glorify God and spread the gospel through song.”

In December 2024, Efosa recorded a collection of gospel tracks, with Super Power emerging as a standout. Inspired by the extraordinary authority and transformative power in the name of Jesus, the song reflects the miracles Efosa has witnessed through faith—blind eyes opened, the dead raised, and lives changed. A key influence is Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s quarterly programs, where the Holy Spirit’s power is demonstrated in action.

With its Afro-fusion flair and Amapiano groove, Super Power is both a spiritual anthem and a dancefloor igniter. “This song is about God’s limitless power and the authority we have as believers,” Efosa says. “It’s a reminder that miracles still happen—and it’s a call to celebrate that truth.”

Super Power is now available on all major streaming platforms. Gospel music lovers and Afro-fusion enthusiasts alike are invited to experience this groundbreaking track and join Deacon Efosa in proclaiming the power that surpasses all.
